Community Recreation with NYU Langone

Community Recreation with NYU Langone

NYU Langone's Alzheimer’s Disease & Related Dementias Family Support Program provides personalized support to those who care for family members experiencing thinking and memory disorders.

They are currently seeking volunteers to assist with their community recreation program in Brooklyn. Sessions will be 3 hours long, once a week, offered in a 10-week series. Volunteers will provide direct assistance in each session to people in early stages of memory loss. Volunteers will also provide logistical support to set up details of the program.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please reach out to Amy Harris via email at or by phone at (646) 501-6788.

*This is not a New York Cares project*

NYU Langone's Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias Family Support Program, located in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan, has a goal of making it easier for caregivers to meet the needs of their family members with memory programs so that they can take of themselves as well. Some of their services include comprehensive evaluation, education on the causes and symptoms of memory disorders, advice and support, individual and family consultation, and access to experts and appropriate community resources.
