Top 5 Projects to Keep you Warm in the Cold
Winter has returned with a vengeance, with temperatures dipping below freezing. But never fear! We have the best way to warm up while giving back. Here are our Top 5 Projects to Keep you Warm over the next week.
1. Teen Basketball at Jacob Riis Settlement House
Hit the court! You’ll forget the how cold it is outside if you’re staying active indoors and helping teens improve their basketball skills.
2. Sort Clothing with Housing Works
Spread the warmth! Help Housing Works sort clothing for people in need. You’ll feel warm from the inside out.
Warm body and mind at a morning yoga class. Pose and stretch with kids to help them gain strength and self-confidence. Start the day warm and toasty, and feeling great!
4. God’s Love We Deliver Meal Prep
Prepare a hearty meal. Help clients at God’s Love We Deliver get the nutritious, filling meals they need, and enjoy the warm feeling that comes from serving others.
5. Dance Classes with BronxWorks’ Jackson Avenue Family Residence
Dance it out and heat it up! Get active with kids at a transitional family shelter, and warm your heart as well as your dancing shoes.

While New York Cares has many magnificent projects, God’s Love We Deliver’s meal prep is the closest to my heart. I look forward to chopping my weight in vegetables (especially onions) whenever I have the pleasure of volunteering on this project.
