Hard at Work and Having Fun at P.S. 297 K
July 24th, 2009
For their last project of the school year, the children and volunteers at P.S. 297 K took a break from their usual Sports Explorers program to revitalize one of their local community gardens. The kids had a blast beautifying Patrick J. Van Doren Pocket Park, especially painting new signs for the garden.
Can you think of more fun crossover projects like this that we could try? Post your suggestions here as a comment.

I can’t think of any specific venues or schools, but it might be nice to have one of the youth groups, like Sports Explorers, visit a senior center to assist/participate in one of their activities, like Roseland dance or Arts and Crafts. From my experience, the seniors enjoy having young children around, as it brings more energy to the environment. And it would be a great experience for the kids as well, having a chance to give back to someone else.
