Street festivals make summer in New York great, so take advantage of them while you still can. Sign up to volunteer at the 4th annual Sunnyside Summer Streets Festival and spend a day outside crafting. You’ll be in charge of your own table where children ages 4 and up will participate in simple crafts. You’ll be there to guide the children if they need assistance.

We’re taking over streets in Long Island City, from 46th Street to Greenpoint Avenue, and local news may stop by to cover this fun event. Not only will this be a fun day, but it’ll give children the opportunity to work on art projects, which they might not be able to do at school. Many art programs have been discontinued due to budget cuts, so it’s important to make sure children can still stretch their creative muscles.
