My mother, who has a house in Rockaway Beach was a victim of Sandy in that her heating, plumbing and electricity were destroyed by the sea water. her living quarters were not.

She died about 6 weeks ago and I have been cleaning out her house. I have 10 contractor bags of her clothes, which either are cleaned or have never been worn -- the price tags are still on some of the clothes.

I would like to donate these clothes to a charity. So far, the Vietname Veterans Charity doesn't go to Rockaway Beach. I have been on the phone for hours trying to get through to the Salvation Army. Other local charities seem to have not opened as yet.

Can you help me?

Any of the organizations listed under clothing and select goods should accept your donations. Thanks for the support!

We have started collection and have acquired everything from food to tools/supplies to clothing to toys. Will NY Cares accept a broad donation of all these items to be dispersed to the various charities noted above? We are happy to donate, but we are coming from Mass and looking for one drop-off location for all goods. If you cannot, perhaps you may know of another organization that will? Best,

I am with an organization called Wings Up Productions. We are very new. We would like to distribute water, canned food, and coats/clothing to victims of Hurrican Sandy. How can we provide support?
